Dallas struggled a bit while trying to sleep during the first half of last night. Some time around midnight, Heather noticed that her respiration rate and heart rate were elevated perhaps signifying that Dallas wasn’t comfortable. After the nurse got her some Tylenol in her and Heather slipped into the hospital bed, Dallas slept with no issues all night – she just needed some mommy snuggles!

Around 5:30am this morning, she got a bit more junky sounding and RT was called in to do the cough assist. After things settled down and her first morning feed started, Dallas continued to sleep for a bit longer. Her morning meds were given around 8:30 and her feed was not stopped – this caused her to vomit, losing her meds. The team determined that they wouldn’t readminister the meds, as missing a dose (mostly supplements) in the AM wouldn’t be harmful. It’s still a bit of a challenge getting her feeds dialed in, but I think we’re almost there.

Grammy D (Heather’s mom) stopped by and Dallas seemed to have a bit more head movement and eye tracking when she saw her. We got her down on the mat that PT/OT left and Grammy D worked some of her massage magic (pictured) on Dallas. She was quite tight in her muscles, which one would expect after being in bed over 2 weeks, so we’re fortunate that she could spend some time loosening her up.

Otherwise, Dallas had a peaceful afternoon nap and a birdbath (in bed) to get her all cleaned up. Excited for the week tomorrow, as it means PT/OT will be back to work with her.

PopPop (Heather’s Dad) is on night duty this evening and at last report, things were calm and the night nurse is good – that always helps!
