Slow and steady wins the race seems to be Dallas’ motto right now. A little bit of a restless night lead to another day of sleeping for Dallas. It’s a catch 22, trying to get her sleeping good at night but yet allowing her to sleep when she can get it. Docs started Melatonin tonight to see if it can aide in her getting a better night’s sleep.
We see the most minute progress each day, but we are encouraged that it is onward and upward regardless of how small. Today we noticed more stretching and yawns (evidence of strength!) and lots of open eyes. She wants to talk so bad, but she’s learning to use her eyes the best she can to communicate in the meantime. Sometimes she is out of energy and not able to. This afternoon she tested her endurance. She sat in her chair for over an hour and a half and when asked if she was ready to go back in bed, Heather motioned her eyes to the bed as she said it, and Dallas did exactly the same!
She had a little bit of a rocky first half of the day with a few spit ups, heart rate spikes, and tons of mucus. She was given some Tylenol as a first line of defense, coupled with some cough therapy and a big poop, she seemed to have a more peaceful afternoon.
Heather was hoping to do a little exercise with her before bed but she fell asleep a little before 6, so she shut all the lights down and called it an early night.
Hoping for some much needed shuteye for this sweet girl!
